I'm thrilled to be a first-timer at this esteemed event, held annually at the whimsical and ever-inspiring McMenamin's Edgefield grounds out in Troutdale, OR.

Rules for the Cracked Pots art show and sale state that each piece must be made of at least 80% reclaimed/salvaged/reused/recycled materials. The event is intended to support waste reduction as much as it is to enchant visitors with original artwork.

Be sure to allow time to explore the hotel and pubs. My favorite thing about Edgefield is the faces painted on C-joints in the pipes along the hallway ceilings. Just look up and you'll see what I'm talking about. ;)
