Always wanted to learn how to mosaic? Have a stash of broken tiles and plates in your garage, like almost everyone else I know? ;)
Here's your chance to learn in an informal atmosphere at a bargain price! (This is the first art class I'm offering in Portland, so my introductory fee is just $20 to cover materials costs.)
Everything you'll need to make a mosaic plaque for your garden or entryway is included. (Feel free to bring your own treasured bits, however.) You'll learn how to mix tile adhesive, how to create simple designs that will "read" well in tile, and how to apply the small pieces to your base. There will also be an option to make a one-step piece that will not need to be grouted later on. (Don't worry if this doesn't make sense right now. I'll explain everything.)
Because it's happy hour, feel free to bring a beverage or munchies to add to our supply. After we've made our mosaics, all of Alberta Street's dinner options are right around the corner. Why not make an evening out of it?
